The Village
It all started with a dream to bring a sustainable source of food to a local village.
The Founders
In September 2018, that dream became reality when Steve Shabangu and Mike Longino founded Chicken in the Bush.
The Farm
Chicken in the Bush is currently located and operated out of Steve's backyard.

For the first 10 months, chicken delivery was limited to what could fit in Steve's truck.
Chicken in the Bush LLC
In July 2019, Chicken in the Bush was officially filed as a business of South Africa. Three weeks later Steve and Mike agreed to purchase a climate controlled truck to protect the chickens from the heat.
The Future Farm
Operating out of Steve's backyard, Chicken in the Bush has been limited to its resources. To grow and cater to more people, Steve and Mike have located a parcel of land approved by the chief of the village to purchase for a larger farm. This new property will provide fresh food to more of the village's population.
